Instructions for set up
Before flying
Firstly, you will need to thread the speedbar cord through the relevant pulleys on each side of your harness, threading the line from the underside. Next, thread the brake stopper on to the cord from the top of the line (see photo below), then Brummel hook and tie off the end of thecord with a knot. Once in place, by pulling the cord through the stoppers the speed bar can sit snugly tucked away under the seat of your harness preventing it from dangling between your legs during take off. Pushing on the bar with your foot once airborn will automatically slide the cord through the stoppers, releasing the bar to its length.
Lengthening the free*spee cord
Place the bar between your legs as shown in the picture below and push the bar away from you so that the loop comes to rest against the bar.
Shortening the free*spee chord
Hold the free*spee bar between thumb and fingers and simultaneously press the two brake parts with both your fingers. This releases the pressure on the cord and you can now pass your finger into the loop and pull the bar towards you to shorten the length of cord. The “teeth” in the system will automatically grip the cord the more brake pressure you apply in flight preventing the cord from slipping.
