Could this be a new world straight line distance record for Seiko
Seiko Fukuoka-Naville who has been in Australia chasing ideal weather conditions since November, may well have been rewarded yesterday with a new world distance straight line record.
Taking off from Jil Jil in south West Australia, she flew 406km in a straight line distance to land in the Pulletop region, fortunately not too far from a road. Pierre Naville was following her progress, as were her many supporters, using Airtribune’s 2D/3D live tracking and together with Tom Payne’s XC Planner, it would appear that officially her flight stands at 397km, beating the previous record by a mere 2km’s. Ratification is in progress.
The current record is held by Italy’s Nicole Fedele with 395km, made on the 3 November 2015 from Quixada.
