NIVIUK Ikuma, the new EN-B+ to be presented at the Coupe Icare
After NIVIUK’s Grand Touring glider, emerges the Back-Country EN-B+
Last year at the Coupe Icare NIVIUK presented their Grand Touring (Grand Tourismo) glider, for pilots in search of new horizons and a unique and simple desire to fly further. In response, NIVIUK designed the Artik 4.
Today, NIVIUK is pushing the true boundaries of Back-Country flying, combining ease and performance for pilots seeking the ultimate cross-country flying experience. NIVIUK’s answer is the Ikuma.
The Ikuma defines the high-performance ENB+ wing, a category in which NIVIUK has not yet been present until today. Ikuma is aimed to satisfy a wide range of pilots each with their own motivations. It breaks the boundaries of oustanding performance with noteworthy handling and safety elements.
The Ikuma exists in 5 sizes (21, 23, 25, 27 and 29), 4 colours (Orchid, Bluberry, Tulip, Sunrise).

BGD provides the Cure

The new ENC wing from BGD was seen in St André les Alpes last week during the British Open. Although still in the prototype stage, BGD claim it to be as efficient at climbing, if not more so, than a two-liner.
BGD’s successful performance XC wing, the Tala2 was on the fringe between the ENB and C class. The Cure, with top speeds rivaling other 3-liners in the same category, will most likely fall into the high ENC/low END certification, although the handling is said to be exceptional on the bar. Made of a lighter fabric the Size 23 model weighs 4.7kg for 60 cells.
David Chaumet has made several 200+ flights on the Cure recently in Portugal. It may be ready for St Hilaire – we can’t wait to hear more.

First Impressions from Cloudbase Paragliding

Here is the brand new Volt2 ENC from AirDesign which is a high performance ENC glider. The best features have been taken from the Pure 2 and incorporated into the Volt2. The compact risers have a 2-2-2 configuration which has resulted in the 10% reduction of line length. Ball-steering has been replaced with ergonomic loops on the C’s, and the innovative “Vortex Hole Technology” is clearly visible on the underside tips. The Volt2 has a reinforced and redesigned leading edge and shark nose profile, and in Cloudbase’s video, is shown to perform and handle well in strong conditions. Bar pressure is light and effortless to reach optimum speed. This glider is sure to satisfy any competition or XC pilot looking for that extra surge of performance.
