Specific SIV and freestyle training for girls
SIV and freestyle training is organised by the Women’s French Flying Federation Commission
Organised by Bénédicte Saury Jourdan, Manager of France’s Free Flight Commission for Women, two sessions took place in the 2015 calendar to answer to a specific female-orientated demand for SIV training. Originally scheduled for the Spring, the training was postponed to October due to unfavourable weather conditions. Bénédicte explains why the female training programme was initially started up and how with these specific work groups, girls can fully express and share their experiences amongst one another without any inhibitions…their fears, aspirations, experiences are all out in the open. The objective was that each pilot endeavour to overcome her difficulties so that pilot progression can continue. Discover the stories of the group of girls during their training week, filmed and edited by Maeva Giacometti.
This start-up training project was granted to Jean Marc Ardhuin, Manager of France’s Acrobatics team, who decided to associate some of France’s most experienced freestyle pilots and instructors to give the girls coaching. Bertrand Doligez and Serge Tuaz from flying school Ciel et Cimes, and well-known acro pilots Jérémy Bailly, Gaetan Doligez, Eliot Nochez et Tim Alongi were all there with hands-on guidance and instruction for the duration of the training period and give their take on feminine progression within the sport of paragliding.
