Combo climb/fly in the Fiz Massif, Haute Savoie France

Leaving from Sallanches, Fred Souchon and Liv took the “Ni dieu ni maître” climbing route (a 250m, level 6C), a 1500m vertical top to bottom : “one of the most stunning limestone routes in the Haute Savoie known for its feel and natural beauty”. Once at the summit of the Pilier de la Croix de Fer, Fred and Liv swapped their climbing gear for that of free flight …

Fred offers some advice: “The launch at the summit is orientated NW-W-NE.  However it is possible to take off from the South but caution is required as this is a committing cliff launch… The landing options between Cluses and Sallanches are to be avoided between March and September because of the strong valley breeze which sets up regularly every day”.
